Hello All,
I am on a project where one of the initially assgined resource is no longer in the project and his work is now assigned to 2 other resources.

In this case how will I update my project plan in MS Project.
When I go my assign resource to task option I can replace one person for other but I dont know how to replace 2 for 1.

Please advice.

View | Resource sheet
add resource names, departments, billing rates, etc.

View | Gantt
Click on the task you want to adjust

Window | Split
1. RightMouseButton on bottom of screen and choose "Resource Work"
2a. Change "Task Type" to 'fixed duration'
2b. Clear "Effort Driven"
2c. Click on the "OK" button
3a. Add the new resources, and put appropriate values in the 'work' column for the new resources
3b. For the old resource, set the Remaining work to 0
3c. Click on the "OK" button.

4. If necessary ...
4a. Change "Task Type" to 'Fixed Work'
4b. Click on the "OK" button
4c. Adjust the duration (up/down)
4d. Click on the "OK" button.

There are other ways (one is much snazzier) but this is an approach that will always work.
