Using the Broadxent DSI Modem Di3631 for a client on Windows 98 SE. When the modem installs, it defaults to COM 3, however, the client has some software that requires the modem to be on COM 1 or COM 2. At first I disabled the single onboard COM port, uninstalled the modem and reinstalled, thinking that it would take the first available port. It still defaults to COM 3, even if I put it in another PCI slot. I can even set the onboard COM port to 3 and the modem still commands the spot, forcing the onboard port to COM 5. I've also tried to change the resources setting in the device manager, but it will not let me. Is there anyway to change this device's COM Port setting?

There is currently no online manual for this model on Creative's website. I looked.
Look in the one that came with the modem. It will tell you how to change com port settings on the hardware.
You will then have to set up your operating system and BIOS accordingly.

Good luck!
