I am in charge of a Nortar ICS 4.0, I don't know how to assign a DID number to a new extension I just created. We are using the 7310 phone. Please help. I have no manuals and need to configure this for a user that had requested it almost a month ago. Please advise.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you haven't done this before, you might want to call in your vendor for a quick training class. It's not terribly difficult, but can be confusing if you haven't done it before.

Essentially you need to configure a target line (which start at 125 on your system), and assign the digits that the telco sends to your system to that line. You then assign that line to ring or appear/ring on the set in questions.

Thanks for replying back and your help is very much appreciated, I tried that last time and the technician did assigned the DID to the extension but didn't want to teach me how to do it. He said it was again his company's policy. If it is not too much can you instruct me in the procedure of assigning that DID or can you be so kind of re-direct me to a manual on how to do it? I will probably end calling the phone guy anyways but still would like to know the procedure of doing it.

Does the extensions matches the did receive digit?
If it does?
example: x2500 and the did is 555-787-2500

Find an open target, input the recieve digit in this case it's 2500, prime set is 2500.

Go to terminal & sets, show, enter x2500, line access, line assigment, then assign the target to ring, or ring and appear.

email me contact a contact number I can walk you through it over the phone.

NorstarOption;
Thanks for replying to my request. To answer to your question our DID and extensions don't match... we had three digits extensions and DID's are four digits xxx-xxx-nnnn. Is there a way to find out if I still have did available in my system or I need to get new ones from my Telephone Co.
Thanks again for your help

KMW40:
They don't allow e-mails on this website, due to spammers, recruiters and etc., it would be Better if you could give me instructions if you are willing to do it.
Thanks.

Get the list of all the extensions and compare it to the block of DID's. Call your telco to find out your company's range of DID's
