Hi all,

We are setting up a web page to replace our old paper 'data book', which contained a finite set of reports in each section. Each report must have a numeric report name to refer to (e.g. Section A, Customers contains:
Table 1A: Number of Customers by Country
Table 1B: Number of Customers by State
Table 1C: Number of Customers by City
Table 2: Customer Demographics)

Question: Does anyone have a system of naming reports numerically that allows for the insertion of new reports later on?

We would like to display the new reports web page still developing new reports. If possible, I would like to avoid renaming existing reports, but it may be unavoidable if we need to insert new reports.

Thank you for any ideas or experience you can share regarding this subject!

Taken from the lessons learned from early days of BASIC programming, number each document as a multiple of ten, then you've got room to toss new documents inbetween (assuming you're not going to be inserting many upon many new documents).
