How do you assign or change an items icon.

Example: If I wanted a different icon for all WinZip files, how can I change that?

Sean.

Open NT-Explorer
Go to Tools, folder options and then file types.
Search the file extension you want to change the icon and click advanced. There you can change the icon.

Hope it helped.

When I search for a new icon, it is looking for "Icon Files". What are the typical extensions used for icon files? If I know that, I can search for the files ahead of time. WinZip is not in the default collection.

Thanks. Sean.

Icon files have .ico extension - but .exe and .dll files often contain one or more icons (eg, winzip.exe has a boatload - including the normal default icon for winzip of course).

Thanks all. I've got some of them back now. I may download desktop architect and the old theme again when I take this laptop home. Sites are bloacked from work.

Thanks Again. Sean.
