I'm setting up an MICS for an attorney's office and he requires the following. He would like to have a log of the amount of time they spend on telephone calls regarding a specific case in order to quantify labor hours.

Example. Attorney make a call regarding case 001 (customer 1), the call takes 1 hour. He would like to quantify the hours spent on the phone on Case 001 by the end of the case.

Is there a "code" he can dial prior to making the call? Perhaps a "code" that he can assign to each case? If so, how would he "print" or "read" such log?

Thank you so much for any input you may have on this.

Thanks Curlycord. What software is that? And what interface would I need from the MICS?

Station Message Detail Recording device, connects to a station port. There are a lot of CDR software out on the market.

Thanks for your reply PERRYPJ. I figure and SMDR6 for MICS 7.1? Can you point me at a low cost software? My research has led me to $1,000 + price tags, this is a small 5 set telephone system.

Google SMDR software and you will see alot at different price ranges.

If you don't want pretty reports you can always put a PC on the SMDR device and capture the raw data.
