Greetings,

I need to assign a macro to function key F9 in Word. ANy thoughts? Thanks.

That is possible, yes. If you have already written your code, go to Tools, Customize. Select Commands, use the drop down at Save in to select the file/template, press the Keyboard button. The rest will be clear to you when you see it on screen. If you are starting on your macro and are recording, press the Keyboard button in the Record Macro dialog box.

Mind you, F9 is the standard Word key for updating fields. Your new assignment will override this. As a member of that irritating species called "users", I don't like programmers who mess to much with standard function keys (grin).
