Hi, I'm very new to the asp world... I finally made my dsn-less connection work.
Question: I can only get my asp to work in the root directory. Is there something I need to do in order to have my asp pages work somewhere else?

I'm on NT VServers account
DSN-less connection
my root directory is I host another site in I tested a simple 'hello world' asp and it only works if I put the asp page in It will not work in How do I make my asp pages run in dir2?

if ya need more info, please tell me

Check the IIS permission to allow scripts on the site dir2. You find permissions on the properties page of ICM or MMC depending on 2000/NT.

You will have to right click on the properties of the folder where your file resides, choose properties, and make sure that under "Application Settings" that "Execute Permissions" has at least "Scripts Only".

terror, has any of the suggestions listed above helped? has your problem been answered? or are you still having problems?

thanks guys, I'll check it out....I might be back :)

Ovatvvon,

I don't know yet. I just read the posts and I don't have direct access to check the IIS permission stuff. I have to wait for my lan administrator to show up. So, in all likeliness, this won't happen til around 5pm, I'll let you know,
thanks

Heh, the glee of being administrator of such a small, productive office...me and my father do all the administrative stuff around here on win2k...perhaps your 'lan admin' should set you up with those permissions so you can get into SOME of it at least... Regards,

aah, what I neglected to tell you was that the admin is my brother, whom, of course, never has time for a family member. I've been trying to get permission setup all week. if he doesn't do it today, I'm not buying his lunch anymore! (haha)

It's all in the familay!
And yes, it IS a permissions thing...it's gotta be...

May I suggest giving Niv3k and cpope a star?
I always give stars where it's deserving...=) Regards,
