made a form using frontpage wizard, created a new db to hold info. published using my IIS. So I go to my browser type in address Page won't load. set my server to "Execute permissions: Scripts only" then tried "Scripts and Executables" Still doesn't load What am I doing wrong

Do you have the permissions set to allow for pages of type .asp to display in the directory you have the pages loaded into?

Yes I have the permissions set right for this there are sample asp pages from microsoft that work.

Hmmmm. Are you running Advanced Server 2k? I had the same problem with .asp's on Advanced server 2k. I couldn't run them no matter what I did, so I moved them to another box and reformatted. After that they ran fine. I still don't know what it was and I know this doesn't offer much help but you may want to try a couple of your pages on another server running the same configuration and settings. It may be a Microsoft thing.

Well see how I am using IIS it probably is a Microsoft thing.....Trying to be my own server. If I have htm forms no probem but when I change the extention it doesn't work.

Do I need to change anything else? Is that my problem there is some code that I need to fix when i change the extention?

All you have to do is change the extension. What error are you are recieving and what type of anti-virus software are you using? Norton has had some problems lately with the updates interfering with IIS operation. The people I have spoken with have switched to Mcafee and not had any more errors. Also, are the asp's working server side? Are you accessing the page directly or by directory default? If you are accessing them by directory default, the order could be placed to look for default.asp and not index.asp or vice versa. Just a thought.

"Unable to display page" (if anything comes up, sometimes it just tries to load for a long time) and this is after it has tried to load for about 20min. to 1hr. Am running Norton so will try it without. Let you know what happens.

It is not my default page but a link from that page. And also tried to display it by typing the path directly in the browser. Nothing except the same as above.

Cirrus9 thanks for your help, it is greatly apprecitated.

I didn't think about this before but do you have the proper FP extensions for asp on your server?

I installed Norton 2002 Anti-Virus and my asp stopped working. Unchecked "Enable Script Blocking (recommended)" in the Norton options, reboot and everything was back to normal.
