Microsoft says that Sessions dont work without cookies.
So your sessions will not work if you disable cookies.
So most of the web sites first check if cookies are enabled or not.If not, they warn the user that they cant login.

You can experiment this with hotmail, rediffmail etc.
First disable your cookies by going to Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level/..

Also remember there are 2 types there. One is per sesion cookie and the other is cookies which are stored on your computer as text files.

Got it ?
