I've recently upgraded to FrontPage 2002. I made sure the new server extensions were installed but my .asp pages won't work anymore. Any of the .asp code that includes a "request" just doesn't work. In some cases the code is displayed in the browser instead of the web page. Has anyone else ever come across this issue? How do I fix it? Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Laura.

I have the same issue with FP 2000. I tried it on my own server, and a commercial server used by my company. In the case of my server, it shows code and gives this error:

Database Results Error
The database connection named 'Sample' is undefined.

This problem can occur if:
* the connection has been removed from the web
* the file 'global.asa' is missing or contains errors
* the root folder does not have Scripting permissions enabled
* the web is not marked as an Application Root

One or more form fields were empty. You should provide default values for all form fields that are used in the query.

On the case of the server used by my company, (URL: ) Ebverything looks like it will work, but when you hit "search" it goes to a page that says "The page cannot be displayed" with the same URL as above.

If anyone could help Laura2 or myself, that would be great! Thanks!

I called Microsoft and was told that you cannot view asp pages within FrontPage 2000 or 2002. I notified them that I was very much able to view them in FrontPage 2000. I guess it had something to do with the fact that I had Personal Web Server set up on the machine that housed the 2000 version. That's the info they provided me with. The problem is that I have personal web on my new system as well and still no asp viewing capabilities in 2002. How can I verify that my codes are working properly if I can't view them first off?

There is a work around. You can open your page on the server and save it as a favorite. Then open that favorite in FrontPage. They page will display correctly.
