Hello all.

I have inherited a web app for an intranet site and was asked to point the query to a different database. I am fairly new to this, so I copied the old code and changed the table/database references where appropriate.

My database connect string is valid (tested it on its own to eliminate possibilities) and the SQL select statement is valid (checked it in Query Analyzer). I am assuming the error lies in the code to assemble the WHERE statement, but I am just not sure. Would someone here be willing to take a look at the code and see if they can fin any obvious problems?

Thank you!

Here is the code, copied into notepad and pasted:

Sorry, I guess it would be somewhat helpful to tell you that once the query is executed by the "Seach" buttom on the page, it displays a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error.

No line numbers, no nothing.

Thanks again.

Youi are probably getting the "Friendly HTTP Error" page. Two things to check: In the Internet Servies Manager or IIS tool in Control Panel -> Administratrive Tools there is an option to turn off Friendly Errors. Open it up, Right click on your default website (or at an applicaitn/dir below there I think also). Go to the Home Directory tab, Configuration button, App Debugging tab, and inthe bottom section select the "Detailed Messages" option instead of the other one. Sorry, this is from memory and for IIS 5.0 so it may be a little different for you.

This should now allow your browser to show your web server to show you real error messages. Upside is that you can debug, downside is that your advertising information to others if you leave it on and have bugs in your apps.

Thanks for the tip, Tarwn. The error that displayed after turning off the "friendly errors" pointed me to a problem in my connect string. Once I corrected that, it works fine!

Thanks again, have a star!
