Thanks for the reply.
I would like to write ASP or JSP code that would call LAPI functions in particular the Search API. The program should take a search criteria and use the API to find the documents. Not only search on Title, but attributes.
Also, I would like to format the return results.
I hope its clear.

Both ASP and JSP are server side code so is livelink's code.
JSP can use LAPI so I definitely think that ASP can do it also.I have written a FAQ that shows LAPI interaction thru JSP/serrvlet in this forum.
If all you want to present is a customized search interface thn there is a FAQ in this forum doing that also.
