asp.net woes

OK I am brand new to asp.net and fairly new to dreamweaver. I was attempting to use dreamweavers getting started tutorial for setting up a database connection with asp.net. I followed the instructions to the letter ( at least I think I did), and when I finished I tried to
run the project with liveview. All that happend was the toolbar dropped and a red "x" appeared with no real error message. I tried to run it inside my web browser using

http://localhost/MySampleApp/customerComment.aspx.

It ask me if I want to open,save or cancel. Open
takes me directly into dreamweaver. I am running XP pro with IIS 5 and .net framework 1.1
any help would be greatly appreciated.
