I did post this question under ASP.NET forum, but thought that you guys/girls may be able to help...

Does any one know if the asp.net and active directory (on the same server) is still a problem with win2003 server?

I know (the hard way) that it is a problem on 2000, but i am unable to find out if the same problem exists on 2003.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply,

Do you know if it works on the domain controller server(with active directory)?

Thanks again,

Since you've posted this in the Windows Small Business Server 2003 forum, are you asking specifically about .NET and SBS? Because currently, SBS 2003 will only work with .NET 1.1 for it's default sites (companyweb, Monitoring & Reporting, Backup, Remote Web Workplace, Outlook Web Access).

You can install .NET 2.0 or .NET 3.0 on an SBS but it must run side-by-side with 1.1, meaning that you must create separate application pools for these additional frameworks.

Since SBS is ALWAYS a domain controller, there is certainly proof that ASP.NET works on it. However, SBS has some very special features which insure a proper and secure configuration. You may not achieve this if you deploy on stand-alone Windows Servers.
