ASP.net MYSQL membership provider web.config sample

I'm new to both asp.net and mysql. I'm struggling with having mysql be the role and membership provider for my website. I'm looking for an example of how to hook-up the web.config file.

I'm using VS 2008 as my dev env and I'm running into problems with the wsat tool.

I've already spent a day looking around for this info. What I do need to know is what are the compatibility issues with different releases of the mysql connector and the different versions of visual studio and asp.net . Specifically (vs 2008 (sp?) ) and asp.net (3.5).
