ASP.NET 2.0 / VS.NET (2005) / VB.NET & C#

Greetings,

As recommended in thread855-274625, I had a good look at 'Programming ASP.NET, 3rd Edition' published by O Reilly. I have become a fan of O Reilly books - they are clear, concise, and code snippets are reliable. I was wondering, though, if anyone knew of a book that was comprable to the O Reilly style / standard but has code examples in both VB and C#?

My strength is, so far, in VB and the O Reilly book only uses C# examples.

Thank you for your suggestions,

~Melagan

There are plenty of programs n the net that will do the translation from VB.Net to C# and vice versa so you could use them.

"My old site" - Me

Great - I will have a look at those translaters. Ultimately, I would like to be comfortable with both languages so my development skills will be more flexible. I understand that the syntax of the languages are both very similar, its just learning the different suttle differences.

Meanwhile, for further edification, if anyone else has a suggestion for a book that covers VB.NET & C# / ASP.NET / Visual Studio, I'm still looking!

Thanks again,

~Melagan

Wrox books are good. Some of the books have both c# and VB, some of the books have one or the other but the code samples on the site usually have both. But not always.

I also read that the Wrox ASP.NET book(s) do not cover development in VS.NET. Do the newer editions utilize VS.NET in their teachings?

SitePoint has a great book, one of the best for learning both languages, called:
Build Your Own ASP.NET 2.0 WEB Site using C# and VB

Download the sample chapters to get a feel (1-4).

I like "ASP.NET 2.0 Unleashed" by Stephen Walther from SAMS publishing too.
