Hi guys,

Right now the pages/applications running in a server with asp.net 1.1 framework are all running ok.

Is there any potential adverse effect if this server is upgraded to have an asp.net 3.5 framework?

Will those applications still work as before? Is asp.net 3.5 compatible with those old applications?

Thanks for any advice.

Yes and no, hehe.

Yes, because upgrading the server from 1.1 gives you a new (i think it was new) ASP.NET tab in your IIS Configuration. You can set the target framework of your Virtual Diretory to be 1.1 or 2.0, move your apps to 2.0 when you are ready. And you can test how it looks and works in 2.0 in a seperate Virt Dir, while running your 1.1 as it was.

No because if you set your framework to be 2.0 when you are running 1.1 code, a few tiny commands you were using before will be buggy, you most likely will not encounter those, but who knows what you have written! ( i cant remember the reference, but it was taken out of commission in 2.0 )
