I need to be able to dump a sting into the server clipboard from one of my asp pages. Reason being i have a text to speech program that monitors the clipboard on the server and speaks the text that comes in there. i cant use a file or database, it must go into the clipboard. Is there a way to writ to clipboard from asp? Or maybe some spiffy com object or plug in that i can get to do the same task?

Thanks in advance!
James

As far as I know, the clipboard is not so much "on the server" as it is "on the desktop".

If nobody is logged in, is there a clipboard? Or to put it another way, if the box is running Terminal Services and there are multiple different users logged in, they certainly each have their own clipboard.

My suggestion: first write the incoming data to a file or database field. Then create a little program to for the console user to poll the data source and copy it to the clipboard. Maybe it could be written as a windows service if you need it to run while nobody is logged in. That would be a freaky computer that talks when nobody is using it... directed to talk by a web servie. oh. mmm. i have an evil idea.
