ASP Error 0115

I'm getting this funny message
error 'ASP 0115'
Unexpected error
/portal/startup/start.asp
A trappable error occured in an external object. The script cannot continue running.

We're using WinNT on WEB server with IIS 4.0
ASP with VB6/DLL's calls (ADO).
Error seem to arise randomly anyplace in application.
User are getting this message one by one. Server don't
process requests until w3svc services are restarted or server itself rebooted.
I'd appriciate any suggestions. Thanks !
