I was curious to know what others thoughts on this are. This is the business model where you do not actually have a network and enterprise software at your place of work, and you pay an ASP - Application Service Provider - to keep everything up and running. You connect via the internet.

Many Mid and upper level ERP vendors offer this service such as ACCPAC, Macola, SAP, etc. There was some talk about this a few years back, and it never really took off.

Any thoughts or experiences on this are appreciated.

The company I work for is an ASP.

It's nice because you get recurring revenue. It's bad because you need to sign a lot of customers to take advantage of economies of scale.
