asp and graphics (not bitmap)

Question:
How can you go about implementing an asp page that monitors i.e traffic on a busy street. The objective is to have the cars moving on the street but the street itself remain static. I do not wish to use bitmap because then I have to refresh the entire page.

In short, given a static background, I want to refresh only certain items on that asp page. Any ideas?

Put the page in frame and have a frame of height=0 that figures out the new positions and sends javascript to the other frame to control the locations of the cars, or other objects on the screen. ________________________________________
