ASP and Bar Code Scanner

Hi,

I'm developing an ASP application. This application should be able to read data from bar code scanner ( Symbol Laser Touch ) attached to the computer. I was wondering whether we need any special software to implement this. I really appreciate some guidelines/ sample code to implement this.

Does the scanner have any built-in software (eg database
software)?

I did something using Psion barcode readers, and it proved
quite simple to transfer from the scanner to a SQL Server
DB, and from there to do whatever with using ASP. <insert witticism here>
