Folks,

NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 ; IIS 4.0

We are randomly getting the following ASP error.

"error 'ASP 0115'
Unexpected error
/<web name>/<asp file name>.asp
A trappable error occurred in an external object. The script cannot continue running. "

This forces IIS to hold up memory , finally resulting in IIS crash.

I searched the knowledge base in and out but couldnt find any entries for IIS 4.0. Any suggestions ??

This is one of those errors that everybody dreads seeing. They are very hard to track down, especially if you're using components that you didn't write. Is this your own component? If so, I'd suggest the following article:

<A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
If you don't own the component, your only recourse is to contact the vendor and report the problem, and hope they have a fix.

Good luck. Wish I could have helped more.
