Help me.

I have 2 ASN's stacked together with one live ethernet interface on unit 2. Unit 1 is the base unit and has the flash installed. The stack boots from this unit. What i need to do is decommision this unit one and make unit two the base unit. I have tried to do this but i was unable to make the unit 2 boot from the flash. I there something i need to do to make the unit 2 know it has to boot form its local flash.

Re-install with a blank config. The unit number is attached to the slot and the cards. Rebuilt a new config, it's not so long...

hi,
Disconnect the routers . Put the flash.
Reboot the router . Press the break Key. At the ROM mode
type:
bconfig image local
bconfig config local
reboot it
u r Done

One very important thing you forgot to do. Each ASN router in a stack is identified by the NID setting on the lower right corner of each router. It has a very small arrow in the middle of the NID pointing to a number. The lower ASN will point to 1, the next one up in the stack will point to number 2. You MUST change the NID on the second router to point to number 1 or it won't boot or read your config files correctly since all of the interfaces on that router start with the number 2 instead of 1.
