ASM's dying

anyone have any experience having issues with ASM's dying on a MICS....have tried UPS to regulate power. This the 3 ASM to go down in the past year

Weak point of the ASM as with many electronic devices is the power supply. I've had good success rebuilding the power supplies to bring these back to life.

They are near 20 years old and die all the time.
Consider ATA's as they last longer.

I have only had the occasion to use them a couple of times. The 8 port ASMs and thought it was great because I needed 6 or 7 cordless phones set up. But they did not last very long. I would come in the comm room, after trouble reports, and the power light would be flashing and the ASM clicking. Had to replace it pretty quickly. But yes, they are old already!
