ASM8+ not giving DS

I can't remember who had the problem with ASM8+ not giving disconnect supervision on just some of the ports of the ASM but we just had a customer with the same situation.

He had 4 ASMs and wasn't getting DS on a few of the ports of the ASMs.

After much changing around and checking etc. We had him install (changing DIP switches and everything) the DTM module he had into one of the Buses that he had problems with. After doing that, he powered back down and reinstalled the ASM and reprogrammed the buses.

Lo and Behold the ASM came up and gave disconnect supervision on ALL ports.

I don't know if that will work for everyone but it certainly did for this customer.

I have also found this to be true. I have changed the BUS number assigned and also moved the module to another slot and they start working. Remember this is Nortel, there are no rules.
