Asking for a password

I was looking at a website the other day and there was a link on it to a members-only page. If you click on that link a window pops up asking for a userID and password, and if you didn;t get it right, it would send you to a page saying that you cannot access that page.

How do you do that in HTML coding?

That's done with scripting. Like Javascript, ASP, CGI, Coldfusion, JSP, PHP, PERL, etc...

you can find scripts there that you can modify to your use. I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

It could have also been a function of the Apache Web Server protecting a directory. Look in the Apache Forum for more info on .htaccess files. Einstein47
