Hi all.
Please assist with advise on how to configure for the below scenario:
"All incoming calls destined for the operator after hours will be asked to leave a message if they wish".
I intend to use embedded voicemail on a 3300 controller with rel mivb9. Which mailbox type must I use and how will the administrator know that messages have been left and how to access them?
I am thinking of creating an extension with an unattended physical IP phone. Setup voicemail for this IP phone then always forward all calls to voicemail then there will be a visual indication of messages left. Is this the best i can do?

Methods vary and some depend on how things are setup.

Are calls directly being terminated to the operator after hours or is someone choosing a dial zero option from an AA.

Does the routing change in anyway based on day / night service?

In either case, once the operator is ringing is it the prime line of the phone, a ring group, keyline, or other or combination based on day / night.

Can I assume that the operator has their own personal mailbox so you want to avoid that and opt for a more general MB

basic standard setup
[ul]
[li]Create phantom extension using trusted license type[/li]
[li]Route Phantom extension to VM to integrate with Extension type mailbox[/li]
[li]Program Message Indicator key (lamp) on phones to be notified of messages[/li]
[/ul]

Thank you for the response.
There is an AA that asks callers to press a digit to leave a message. Night mode is scheduled. The operator has no personal MB and uses Mivoice Business Console.

Ah, MiVoice Business Console is a sticky one.

Do you have the option to send voicemail to email?

Hi all.
Please assist with high level instructions for setting voicemail to email on MIVB9

High level is beyond me at this point as I no longer have access to manuals or systems

There are System options for designating the destination SMTP server and setting login credentials for same. If you don't see login credentials you can upgrade to get them

Without login credentials, you can usually use a free SMTP relay associated with your internet service.

You also need to setup the VM Networking form to specify timezone and other details. Note the timezone will be off by 1 hour for 6 months of the year if you use SMTP relay instead of login credentials.

That's all I have off the top of my head.
