ASCII and PS LV 3

I am printing to a RIP that is fully compatable with PostScript 3 and prefers binary (although not necessary). But in InDesign, I am only allowed Level 2 ps and ASCII. The other selections are greyed out.

Is this an InDesign thing or do I need better ppd's or what? I'm on OS 10.2 with all updates and should be at the latest in PS drivers from Adobe.

Thanks for the help.
