I am using crystal reports version 10 and a database connection of ODBC[RDO]. I seem to be having a small problem (well at least I hope it is small) with my program where as I have grouped my data by the date, but the date will not display in ascending order. After grouping the data, I went to the option within the group expert to choose either asc, or desc, and chose asc and the date order displays 5/3/04, 5/4/04, 5/5/04, 5/6/04, 5/5/04, 5/6/04, 5/4/04, 5/5/04, 5/6/04, 5/3/04, as so forth and so on. I also have grouped my data by "teller number", but the report is grouped by it second. I even took away the second grouping by teller and just used the one date group, but it still did not display in ascending order. Can someone please help?!

Hi Tanya,

Thanks for the reply, but sorry I don't speak German. If you can speak English please do so. Thanks again and looking forward to your response.

Sorry, in the response I asumed that you would be dutch. Considering the fact that you used the word 'teller'. For as far as I can see right now it seems that you have used a group inside your date-group. The date group should the last group. But you already tried exlcuding the teller group. I don't use CR 10 so I can't tell exactly. I will try some things and hope to find the solution.

It may not be Crystal but the way you database stores the dates that is the problem. Try making a formula that puts the datefield into a specific format 05/04/04 into
20040504 and sort on that field. You could also have this group be <teller>&20040504 or 20040504&<teller> and solve the secondary grouping at the same time.

PS. teller in the US is usually associated with a bank, so is less common usage in general.
