Ascend Pipeline P50 ISDN modem

I have a P50-UBRI-ASA model or the P50 ascend pipeline ISDN modem that when I move it's location to a new site, stoped working. I am trying to get into it via the serial port in the back that's marked terminal. But I do not know what the settings should be. I have tried the standard stuff but still no go. I.E.- 9600,8,n,1 VT100 terminal emulation.

All I get is garbled characters, and no respnose after power up.

Also if you can let me know what kind of cable I may need for this to talk right, because the connector on the back of the modem is female. It almost looks like I could hook up a wyse terminal to it.

Make sure flow control is set to none. Also try hitting Ctrl-L to refresh the screen. I have seen Ascend equipment connected via Wyse terminals before so I know it should work.
