Hello all,

Currently messing around with an ASBCE and trying to get it configured to work with our NexVortex SIP Trunk. I am currently following Document:

"Application Notes for Configuring Nexvortex SIP Trunk with Avaya Aura® Communication Manager 8.1, Avaya Aura® Session Manager 8.1 and Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise 8.1 – Issue 1.0"

In the Document, it shows the "Call Server" Using TLS - We are not using TLS with NexVortex. Looking for suggestions on Configuring the "SIP Servers" for "Call Server" and "Trunk Server" in the ASBCE

The server profile to your IPO is a call server and the IP address is IPO, 5060 TCP.
The server profile to the SIP provider is a trunkserver and the IP address is their IP address or FQDN, port 5060.

These ports should match the ports you configured under ‘Network and Flow’, 'signaling Interface'.

G van Hamburg: "The server profile to the SIP provider is a trunkserver and the IP address is their IP address or FQDN, port 5060."

Thank you for the info. I currently have two NexVortex Trunks configured in my IPO without an SBCE, so I am not exactly sure what to use. Below is what I currently use for NexVortex:

Line 17:
ITSP Domain Name: px1.nexvortex.com
ITSP Proxy Address: 104.219.163.73

Line 18:
ITSP Domain Name: px5.nexvortex.com
ITSP Proxy Address: 104.219.162.21

I believe I have the Call Server Profile set up correctly according to your comment.

You can add them both to your SIP server profile. There is an add button to enter more than 1. And when you add routing, you also select them both.

Something like this?

Is there somewhere I can enter in the two ITSP Proxy Address: (104.219.163.73 / 104.219.162.21) or are those not needed with the ASBCE?

Nslookup

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: px5.nexvortex.com
Address: 104.219.162.21

So you can use the fqdn or the ip address.

G van Hamburg: appreciate it. Good find. So does everything look good then?

For this part, yes. But take your time if this is the first time! It's not self guiding

G van Hamburg: it’s my first ASBCE so it’s been a learning experience. I appreciate your help along the way.

Questions on Topology Hiding. The document mentions "bvwdev.com", should I be using nexvortex.com for mine?
"Note: bvwdev.com is SIP Domain of enterprise"

Sure, I think they don’t mind. Some providers need to see these headers pointing to their domain, others don’t.

G van Hamburg: Thank you. Another, is this field determined by the number of Licensed SIP Trunk Channels in the IPO?

Indeed, or the nummer of channels you ordered from the carrier. Putting it to 100/100 won’t harm. I think the IPO will decide the exact amount you will use.

Question on this part of the document. Is this used if not using TLS on my SIP Trunk? Not exactly sure what these settings are doing:
