asa removal of dhcp proxy

Hi all,

I am trying to move the issuing of dhcp from my asa to a windows dhcp server , this is more scalable and managable for us, the issue i'm having is when i try to add my internal dhcp server i get the following error :
DHCP: Cannot enable DHCP Relay on an interface running DHCP Proxy. Remove VPN

i have googled for about an hour but not found anything to correct this , has anyone experienced this before ?
