Have never dealt with one, but have heard ot os just a stripped down auto attendant and not that difficult to program.

Client has 6.0 with small PC voicemail.
Client wants the call to come in, get to the auto attendant, make a choice, and during the transfer to the extension of their choice hear a little blurb from the ASA card and then transfer to the extension.

Can this be done and how?

Has the customer said what they want the caller to hear?

If my memory is correct, when a caller chooses an option that involves a Direct Extension Transfer, the auto attendant replies something to the effect "Your call is being transfered. Please wait".

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

He wants the caller to hear a business message recorded on the ASA card before the caller reaches their final destination.

Would using a MOH device with a custom recording be acceptable?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

In the 6.0 is there an option to have the caller hear MOH instead of ringing on transfer?

The options, as I remember them, are silence, ringing or MOH.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

have to clarify something here
the ASA/DXD card is not a device that plays messages to calls already picked up or in progress or put on hold, it is a very basic device picking up the line and in DXD mode allowing caller to pick the extension they want to transfer to and in ASA mode playing a recording and then either transferring the caller to extension 10 or putting them on hold at extension 10.
You need a MoH device hooked into the processor and the "ring on transfer" option set to not ringing (can't remember of the top of my head but it is in the manual easy to find) then it will play the MoH instead of ringing for the incoming caller.
No ASA/DXD card needed take it out and sell it.

Cheers
