We have a Merlin Legend R7 V14.2.our old system was a partner acs5.0.Is there a way to have an asa button on the legend similar to what the acs has.For example when we used the partner if all our operators were busy on the phone the main one turned the asa button on and when a call came in on an outside line it play a message saying "All of our Operators are on the line right now.Your call is important so please stay on the line for the next available operator".Is there a way to get something like that on the legend??

Thanks,

Mike Goddard

The newer Magix processor software has an option for Calling Group Music-on-Hold, in addition to the normal Music-on-Hold option. I do not believe you have this option available in a Legend R7. You could upgrade your processor software to Magix - and get it. I believe the option would do what you want with QCC operator positions. The newer Magix Messaging units also have a DAS (Delayed Announcement Service) service, in addition, to voicemail service - so that could be a possibility as well.

Calling Group Music-on-Hold" - OK, that's what a caller hears when his call has been answered and is holding in a call queue

"DAS (Delayed Announcement Service)" - That's equivalant to a digital announcement player used again for call queues, to announce "continue to hold, or press # to leave a message"

ASA on a Partner is Automatic System Answer, which answers an incoming call after X number of rings, plays a 10 second message, and then places the call on Hold at Ext. 10 (or on later releases can cause the line to continue to ring at ringing extensions, although the call has been answered and the caller is on hold hearing on-hold music)

How about just having the Auto Attendant answer the calls on a delayed basis?

Well, Tom, my good buddy is almost right.

But I must clarify a few things.

NO - Legend R7 has no ASA, but it has something MUCH BETTER..... IF!

If you have any T&R Ports (Ports for regular telephones or fax machines.)

-AND IF-

You have Voice Mail.

Here's what you can do:

You can use GROUP CALLING with a DELAYED Announcement device and do the same (or BETTER) than the Partner.

The "BETTER" part can happen if you have voice mail.

A call can come in to the system and ring to any one of your Operators (IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE). If they are NOT AVAILABLE, your ANNOUNCEMENT DEVICE can play the announcement &

(AGAIN, ANOTHER IF)

If you have Music on hold, the caller will hear music) -AND- after a period of time, the caller can either be answered or sent to a MAIL BOX for the "GROUP".

Does this sound like something you would like to do?

yes that sounds fine.I have Merlin Mail R3 can you give me a set of directions on the procedure.THanks guys for the quick responses.

Thanks,

Menu > System Program > Exit > Extensions > More > Group Calling:

Now in this "tab" you can assign one EXTESNION as the PRIMARY Voice Announcement, and another as the Secondary Voice announcement. (You will have to get an external ANSWER ONLY machine for each announcement, and connect them to SPARE PORTS on the Module the Merlin Mail is connected to.)

You can set the ANNOUNCEMENT REPEAT/INTERVAL within that same "tab".
