I have ASA set up so that our call center manager and a couple of leads can view BCMSvu skill activity while a couple of other people use the BCMSvu client software. I did this because we only had a one seat license for BCMSvu. I was find though, that sometimes when they are doing their skill set monitoring and I'm in doing maintenance that we run out of ASA connections. This also appears that at this time it is also keeping our BCMSvu Server from connecting and pulling down the stats while there are 4 of us using ASA.

I upgraded to a 5 license BCMSvu dongle, thinking that this would let BCMSvu server connect and pull down the stats so that some people could use the BCMSvu Client. But I'm still seeing issues where stats are not being downloaded from the PBX.

My question is, if all of the maintenance connections are being used through the ASA, is this blocking the BCMSvu server from connecting? And consequently, if I have 5 people pulling real time Skill set reports through BCMSvu client, is that going to block the maintenance session on the ASA?

I have a G3r ver 9.5 running ASA and BCMSvu through the CLlan.

Thanks

Mike

G3R
Just how many users can be logged into the switch at one time?

G3I, or CSI is 5 max at one time (all 5 resources are shared)

G3R is 8 max at one time (resources allocated as per paragraph below)

There are eight TUIs,
Three of which are reserved for the RAP port (inads line), local SAT, and an EPN maintenance terminal. That leaves five TUIs for SAP ports (system ports)
NOTE: a system printer will use one of these).
Another restriction: only five administration commands can run at a time.
Similarly, only five maintenance (includes BCMS) commands can run at a time, with three of those commands reserved for the local SAT, EPN maintenance terminal, and the RAP port.

If these ports are all in use, an error will be returned "no resources available"

The answer to your question is "yes". All ports in use will block access for BCMS.

Thanks for the info, BSH. I knew there was a limit to the number of ASA logins but your explanation is the first full explanation of the number of connections I've seen. I figured that was the answer but it's always good to get the real numbers.

Thanks

Mike
