I am trying to connect two sites with a LAN-to-LAN tunnel. One site has a ASA 5510 8.x and the other site has a VPN 3005 unit. Is this possible? Both sites has static IP address. The site with the VPN 3005 is configured as: T1 to Cisco 2600 -> HP prourve swithc -> Port 1 - PIX 6.3 -> LAN / Port 2 - VPN 3005 Public Interface -> LAN.

The PIX/ASA uses 7.x and I have a ASA 8.x. Would this make any difference?

Nope, should be the same. The ASDM will be different though.
