Are you backing up via the NetWare Agent?
It needs to backup via SMS as the Long File Name is only an attribute of the NetWare volumes.
If you use the NetWare Agent check the ASCONFIG.INI for USE SMS Logic = YES
thanks for your answer but i didn't find your parameter in asconfig.INI, i've only : FullSMS = No.
And it didn't explain why on the same volume some files are "normal" and some not.... but i'm backing up via the Netware Agent...

Check the Activity log for an error with TSA and SMS error of fffdffd7...
Use a Full distinguished login ie .CN=USER.O=ORG
Reconfigure SMDR (SMDR NEW this will need SMDR.NLM unloaded)
Unload nlslsp and reload nlslsp
Update Novell's tsa5up1?.exe for sms update
If you are unable to login to the TSA then you will be unable to process long file names
