We have a Windows 2000/SQL 2000 2 node cluster. We installed the Brightstor AS9 Backup Agent and SQL agent on both machines in the cluster. The Shared Drives owned by the cluster show up in the ArcServe console in the virtual server, but the SQL databases do not. They only show up under the individual nodes.

We unistalled the SQL agent and reinstalled it first on the active node, then failing everything over to the standby and installed the agent there, still no luck. During the install it asks for the virtual server name, ID, etc and all of that is correct, but still it doesn't show up under the virtual server when we try to do a backup.

Anybody have any ideas?

You should definitely recheck to make sure that you typed in the virutal SQL server name correctly. It must be spelled right and may need to be in UPPERCASE.

You can verify or change the virtual SQL server name that you entered during the installation, by editing the VirtualSQLServer registry value under ...\ComputerAssociates\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\DSAgent\CurrentVersion\dbasql@...
