AS9.01 Cannot install after uninstallation

if anyone can help...

i have had to remove as9 from one of our servers.

now when i come to reinstall i receive installation failed message and a ref to a installer log.

There are some errors in the log towards the end "problem with the package" etc.

DO i have to clean the system manually before i attempt a reinstall?

i have deleted all folders etc, reg entries etc.

any help appreciated...

Try System Mechanic or another such program that cleans the system. Last time I checked they had a live trial version.

Have you rebooted the server after deleting the folders & cleaning regisrty.

Hi,
I had to uninstall ARCserve v9 also. What do I have to delete(which files,folders) to install it again. Is it neccessary to clean the registry manually?

It is not requried to delete the folders & registry but after uninstllation & rebooting the machine just check the registery and delete any remaining hives under CA or Computer Assciates,it may happen because of corruped instllation.

normally a repair is good enough to fix most probs.

have tried all types of things for my prob.

after speaking to ca via email i am now trying a remote installation,

will post with results!
