I am using an AS5200 to provide dialup access to our network.

The problem is SLOW transfers.

The 5200 provides ip addr, default gateway, DNS and WINS to the caller. Authentication is provided using TACIS.
The caller connects to the network and is logged in with no problem. They can access all devices and browse the internet through the PIX firewall.
The problem is that everthing is so SLOW. I have used FTP to our inhouse server to test the transfers and always use the same file to compare any gains or losses when changing the configurations. The FTP transfer usually starts off fine... 2k+/- and guickly drops to 600 and ocassionally stalls.

My guess is that the fix for this is simple because in lurking the cisco news group it does not appear that anyone else has this problem.

The 5200 is connected to a Catalyst 2900, I've toyed with the configuration on both of them and any changes in response times is usually for the worst.

I'm not at work at the moment so do not have access to the current configurations on both so will send this without them for now. With any luck maybe someone will say "Oh yea had the same problem... do this".
