We're currently trying to allow outside access from an AS/400 to our AS/400. Whereas the connections are fine, and all the ports IBM says to open (23,449,84xx) are open we're still experience difficulties.

When attempting an AS/400 to AS/400 session, we would prefer it negotiated a TN5250 session, but it drops it down to VT100, and thereby the mappings are no right and it soon likes like a dogs dinner (untidy dogs).

This does not occur accessing AS/400 to AS/400 behind the firewall, just going through the firewall.

I attempted to set a GSP for telnet in an effort to do a non-proxy, but it didn't seem to work unless I didn't do it right.

Anyone have any suggestions!?

did you ever find the answer to this issue? We are experiencing the same thing.....

Hi
I have the same problem.

I spoke with symantec, and they told me to create a GSP.

Stiil not Work.
Any news.

Thanks

You can use a GSP with it, which should work.

However, you have to remember to Disable the TELNETD Proxy DAEMON.

It'll use the telnet protocol under the Proxy if enabled, which will cause problems.

Hopefully this will work for you. If not, I will try and give a bit of a detailed explaination of our configuration.

Hi, i'm only now again in the office and I will spend a little time with this question.

Could you please give some details more.

Thanks in advance
