I have a dilemna.

I have an AS400 running V4R3M0.

I need to get a SAVF file from another As400 which is running at a level of V5 something.

When running the SAVOBJ command I set the *TRGRLS field to V4R3M0. Unfortunately this was not allowed, the available release levels available using F4 did not include V4R3M0.

Any suggestions apart from upgrading my AS400.

Usally you can only save to a target release one ot two levels back. For example V5R3 allows V5R2 and V5r1.

You best option is to upgrade your V4R3 system to at least V4R5. I believe that's a no-charge upgrade.

Depending what you are saving, other options might be FTP, of other means of copying that don't require SAV** commands. In some cases this can work.

We are on V5R1 here, and we can go backwards to only V4R4.

If you know someone with a machine still at V4R5, send the save file to him, let him restore it (after he creates the SAVF on his machine), then you can restore his save file to V5R1 or V5R2.

Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni!
