AS400 folders

Hi,I am new to the as400 so maybe this is silly question,

How can you view the folders the AS400 server in XP explorer ?

I try connect in explorer "\\servername\" and typing QSECOFR username and password, but this not find path.

Is this same reason: in 'operation management' when click 'file system' get error "you don.t have authority"

Please Help!!

If you have the authority you should be able to map a network drive in explorer.
\\servername\foldername

When you go into operations navigator to open file systems are you going in as qsecofr?

But client access connection works fine !

Mustn't there be a service running on the AS/400 to be able to do this ?

The services that controls this is started by issuing the following commands in the order below .


STRTCP
STRTCPSVR *ALL

and

STRHOSTSVR *ALL

By doing this it will start a lot of job daemons under the subsystem QSYSWRK .

Also ensure that the QUSER profile is not disabled .

If you don't want *ALL host severs running you could strhostsvr *netsvr, that's what you need running to map drives. Using the strhostsvr *all starts all servers even tftp, ddm, etc.
