I have something I don't understand. I'm running DB2 Data Warehouse from an NT server and I'm connecting to our AS400. I'm trying to create a link to a Source table on the AS400, when I browse the table list I'm not seeing all of my tables, why is this? Also, on some files when I do connect to them I get the following errors for some fields: "DWC03115E the specified native data type does not have a conversion to ODBC in the Data Warehouse Center. RC=3115 RC2=0". Any ideas?

Thanks,

Cole

Hi,
we also had some years ago same kind of problem with Ca ODBC. If I fully remember we load run ptf and the pronlem was fixed. Sorry, can't help you further.

AS400 contains physicals (files),logicals (views) and members. Member data can ONLY be fetched if you create a logical over the member. Client Access and StarSQL - ODBC - will only show logicals that lie over ONE physical. Don't ask me why this is, but this is our experience for every logical that runs over two tables (physicals). there seems to be no exception to physical files in any way.......

To add to this, doing a file transfer from AS400 from a logical that lies over more than 1 physical causes a SQL error concerning 'more than one file-format', which to me seems a related problem...........

Thanks for your response but I'm not sure I'm following you. I'm having trouble viewing the listing of physical files at the moment. For the time being I'm not concerned with logical(views), although I just checked and I can't see any of them, one problem at a time.

Are all of your physical files stacked in one library? Do you experience the problem of just getting the ones in QGPL?
What version of Client Access are you using , I have version 4.4.0 running SF64474 with latest PTF on AS400 installed.....

I'm using DB2 Connect to connect the DB2 Data Warehouse center to our AS/400. DB2 Data Warehouse ver 8 and V4R5 on our AS/400. When I use the CLI I can connect to any table on the 400 and query it. It just seems to be with the Data Warehouse Center gui that I don't see all my tables. The tables I'm looking for are not in QGPL they are in another library. I've noticed this in several different libraries also.
