Our ArcServe 2000 backup server has been rebuilt (WinNT4SP6a) and ArcServe reinstalled with SP4. I rebooted the machine this morning and now have a message in the activity log stating;

W6401 - Changer drive is missing [COMPAQSSL2020TL0405]

The detailed description of this event tells me that "ArcServe does not detect a library drive."

We've been using the AS2000 system with current hardware for almost 2 years now and I KNOW that that library works with AS2000. I have looked at esupport.ca.com and have only found a description of the error stating the same as above "ArcServe does not detect a library drive." There are no suggestions as to how to fix the problem.

Under the Device manager (in AS2000), both the AIT library and the AIT drive are found, but they do not appear as they are supposed to. They appear as two separate devices.

Right way;

-adpu160m (adapter)
|
|_____COMPAQ SSL2020 (library)
|
|______COMPAQ AIT 50LDRV (drive)

Wrong (current) way;

-adpu160m
|
|_____COMPAQ SSL2000 (library)
|
|_____COMPAQ AIT 50LDRV (drive)

This is my attempt to show what I can see in the device manager view - I hope someone can understand it!

Thankyou in advance for any help that can possibly be provided!

Rgds,

MW

Pls disregard request above. I solved by running the Device Wizard and just redetecting and configuring the library & drive.

Thanks anyway.
