As I am new to this COGNOS product,

The installation instructions that are provided with the products are fairly easy to follow. I would just follow the instructions, and you shouldn't have any problems. I have done a lot of installations of the web products and each time I do an install, I still print out the instructions to make sure that I don't forget anything. They are also good for recording the settings for your environment as you go along. Good luck!
