AS/400 paging system

Hi,

Has anyone ever configured their AS/400 to send a message to a pager when a certain critical message ID is sent to QSYSOPR?

We use a commercial product for that - LXI Corp's LXIPage.

Although it's possible to write your own program to get your ECS modem to dial out and send a page.

You can use the AS/400's SNDDST command to send e-mail
messages to users and/or pagers and cell phones.

Then, you need to write a program which will monitor
the QSYSOPR message queue and utiliize the SNDDST command, as needed.

We use a commercial program here also. Messengar Plus, its made by Byteware. Pretty cheap but good program. You can select what gets monitored and how you want to be paged, via email,pager,cell phone.

Oh yeah I just use the product!!!!!
