Artist-Like Border

I have several hand-drawn watercolor illustrations that were scanned and cropped with straight edges. I need to restore an artist-like border to the images.

Does anyone know where I can find a freeware filter or action that will allow me to restore an appropriate border/edge?

restore" to what kinda edge?
try applying a style of 1px stroke on your layer...
or a Filter-->Atristic
or Filter-->Bursh strokes
do u have a simmilar image that we can see?
